Witnesses reported that Shelly, attempting to lighten the mood with his trademark humor, donned a full wetsuit and a hockey mask for a joke. His plan was to scare his friend, Vera Sanchez, but moments later, Shelly vanished into the barn.
“We thought it was another prank at first,” said Chuck Garth, one of Shelly’s companions. “Then we heard the scream, and everything went silent. When we found him… it was horrifying.”
Law enforcement confirmed that Shelly suffered a fatal throat wound. The barn showed no signs of struggle beyond the fatal injury, suggesting the teen was taken completely by surprise.
“The scene was disturbing,” said the lead investigator. “It appears Shelly never had a chance to react. This incident is a tragic reminder of how quickly fun can turn fatal.”
Authorities are urging teens and residents to remain cautious in isolated areas and report any suspicious activity immediately.
